The carb I got off of the 97 had a 145 jet. The 145 is standard for the newer Savages. I would try running the 155 jet (about $6.00 from Suzuki) and leave the white spacer in. The white spacer in the new carb is the same as the old the only difference was the jet. I heard that the newer Savages were jetted down to meat EPA restrictions.
The jet sizes appear to be the only difference.
